SLF wins 1st prize at Stuttgart Surface Treatment Award 2016

The Surface Treatment Award has been awarded by Fraunhofer IPA for the fifth time. SLF's and Wörwag's contribution "Powder-in-powder coating on heavy workpieces - powder-in-powder and DARC®-technology for better corrosion protection and lower operating costs", handed in by Jan den Hartog (SLF) and Jochen Reihs (Wörwag), won the first prize.

In total 15 different applications had been handed in for the award, five of which were chosen as candidates for places 3 to 1. The independent jury, consisting of Dr. Martin Metzner (Fraunhofer IPA), Dr. Martin Riester (Division Manager Surface Treatment, VDMA) and Dr. Michael Hilt (Managing Partner at Forschungsgesellschaft für Pigmente und Lacke e.V.) chose SLF's and Wörwag's contribution with a clear margin ahead of the other participants.

Besides the overall awarding criteria energy efficiency, sustainability, degree of innovation, preservation of competitiveness and applicability in an industrial environment, the jury emphasized the relevancy to practice and the versatile applicability.
