DARC® Ovens
DARC® Technology (Dark Radiation Convection) is a patented drying and curing process developed by SLF, specifically designed for powder coating and flash-off drying applications.
This technology is particularly well-suited for components with large or varying wall thicknesses. It also offers a space-saving solution when installation space is limited.
With DARC® Technology, throughput rates can be increased by up to 50% compared to conventional convection ovens.
Why use Dark Radiation?
The DARC® oven combines convection (hot air recirculation) with long-wave infrared radiation - also known as dark radiation. This intelligent combination delivers numerous performance benefits.
Conventional convection ovens often struggle to efficiently heat or dry components with thick walls. DARC® Technology solves this by delivering significantly more energy in less time, drastically reducing heat-up phases.
Thanks to the highly efficient heat transfer, dwell times in the oven can be significantly shortened. Another advantage: the flat emitter ensures consistent radiation intensity, regardless of the distance between the emitter and the workpiece.
Whether you're working with wet paint, powder coatings or KTL (cataphoretic dip coating) - DARC® Technology is suitable for nearly all coating types. It even allows the curing of different powder colors in a single oven load without cross-contamination.
DARC® can also be used for tempering or flash-off drying after pre-treatment. The long-wave infrared radiation acts directly on the water film, drastically reducing drying times.
